Hatecke Butcher shop
The special colours of LASA VENATO CEVEDALE® for the Engadine Speciality Butchery
Lasa Marmo has supplied 2 cm thick wall panels in LASA VENATO CEVEDALE® for the business premises of the Zernez branch of the Engadine speciality butcher Hatecke, which were enlarged and redesigned in 2019. The surface for cladding the room-dividing wall behind the elongated central sales counter was given a special finish developed with and for the customer. After the grinding process, the surface roughness of this grain allows a very smooth surface with a clearly visible stone texture. The special grain of the LASA VENATO CEVEDALE® stands out in the Lasa-Marble-White with very straight, striped bluish or greyish blue multiple veins.
The business premises of the Hatecke Speciality Butchery are centrally located in Zernez at the junction of the Engadine main road and the Ofenpass road. The designs for the redesign of the business premises were created by the St. Gallen architect Beat Consoni. The traditional butcher's shop is now managed by Ludwig Hatecke in the third generation. Ludwig Hatecke opened his first shop in 1984 in Scuol. The shop, which was also designed by the architect Beat Consoni, stands out for its design and furnishings, which are reduced to the bare essentials. Here too, the client and planners decided to cover the wall surfaces with Lasa marble. Other branches of the speciality butcher shop in St. Moritz and Zürich have also aligned themselves with this concept. In terms of atmosphere, the stores have more in common with an art gallery than with a classic butcher's shop. This highly aesthetic concept also applies to Hatecke's meat specialities. That’s why the specialist publications enthusiastically refer to Hatecke as the goldsmith among the Engadine butchers. The puristic taste of the products, created by minimal use of salt and herbs, is equally supported by the equally puristically designed architecture and shop fittings. The new concept includes the possibility to taste the products directly in the shop. Customers in the Zernez branch can also be visually satisfied with the effect and radiance of an entire wall in the colours of the LASA VENATO CEVEDALE® variety.
