RAW MATERIAL / SPECIAL DESIGN

Constructing with natural stone is not only environmentally friendly but also healthy. As a natural product, the building material does not contain any health hazardous substances. Moreover, natural stone is fireproof and does not require any covering or impregnation. To decide on white marble from Lasa (Laas) means to decide for the most popular natural stone from South Tyrol.

Thanks to its long life-expectancy, the low maintenance costs, and due to its qualities as a precious and aesthetically appealing building material, the white stone from Lasa (Laas) is gladly used for floorings and in stair covers. However, also other ranges of use for Lasa Marble interior fitting become more popular: In the bathroom, solid elements, such as sinks and slabs for washbasins can be found besides the classic marble tiles and natural stone floor plates. Popular in the kitchen are, for instance, kitchen counters and worktops of Lasa Marble, and in the living room, a splendid white marble chimney or fireplace surround makes for the right atmosphere of the homestead.

There is a wide range of applications for Lasa Marble in interiors / indoor environments, and each natural stone tile, each natural stone slab, each window sill, each skirting, each flooring, each staircase and each wall cladding made of Lasa Marble is one of a kind.

It is the fascinating spotless white, or regarding the Venato types the unique and inimitable patterning, that makes Lasa Marble a precious and classy material for interior fittings. But also for what concerns the outdoor area, the white natural stone from South Tyrol decorates countless façades of gorgeous buildings or is used in the design and decoration of terraces, balconies, as swimming pool border, for paving of floors, streets, and pavements.

Besides the high aesthetic values, it is also the extraordinary hardness and weather resistance of the white natural stone, that makes Lasa Marble suitable for outdoor uses. Lasa Marble is resistant to frost, de-icing salt and chlorine. The list of applications for outdoor use is long and ranges from natural stone wall claddings, natural stone floor slabs, marble columns for balustrades, paving tiles, massive marble stairs / treads, building bricks to marble tombstones and urn-graves.

The weather resistant white Lasa Marble has been a popular building material ever since. Through the formation of the 'k.k Fachschule für Steinbearbeitung' (imperial and royal professional school for stone working) in 1870, Laas (Lasa) in the Venosta Valley (Vinschgau) became a center for sculptural arts. The white gold from Laas (Lasa) has become a treasured raw material for many artists of the last Third in the 19th century.

Even if today, the sculptural usage of Lasa Marble has taken a back seat compared to its manufacturing as building material, the Lasa Marmo Ltd. offers raw blocks and raw slabs, irrespective of the intended purpose, may it be a new marble sculpture, a new marble memorial or for other projects. In our in-house sculptor workshop, we manufacture special parts and offer individual and custom-made solutions, as well as 3D parts made-to-order.
