2011Simplification: The stock corporation becomes a GmbH (limited liability company)
The year 2011 begins with a business change. To simplify the company structure, Lasa Marmo Aktiengesellschaft (joint-stock company) will be transformed into a limited liability company on the 3rd of February 2011. Also, the considerations and plans to allow the town of Lasa (Laas) and its closely related marble industry to open up steadily to tourism are bearing fruit. On the 9th of May 2011, the MarmorPlus cooperative will be launched in Lasa (Laas). The investment programme for the renewal and renovation of the existing structures in Lasa Marmo in 2011 also includes the construction of a new freight cableway between "Bremsberg" (mountain with the inclined plane) and White Water Quarry (Weißwasserbruch). The new cableway crane has a cable length of over 1,300 metres and can transport marble blocks of up to 20 tonnes to the other side of the valley. On the 1st of July 2011, the old cable crane, commissioned in 1930, will transport a block of marble to the old setting-down site for the last time.
