2021Lasa Marmo launches digital online platform Digital Drylayout - DDL.20 and becomes historic trademark of national interest

The launch and adoption of the new Digital Drylayout - DDL.20 planning software is another milestone in marble processing. The new planning software, which can be accessed online on the Lasa Marmo homepage, enables architects, designers, stonemasons and dealers to plan projects in natural stone, select the material, generate reports and cutting data for production and place orders. The tool, which is free of charge for architects and designers, was developed by German civil engineer Jan Keller with his company Art Emotional and Lasa Marmo as a partner of the stone industry. Especially in Corona times, when customers often cannot view raw slabs in person, the introduction of this digital solution was a great relief and simplification of the processes.

On 20 November, another special building was inaugurated. In Jose Ignacio, an upscale fishing and seaside resort in Uruguay, the first free-standing "Skyspace" by the American land artist James Turrell on South American soil was inaugurated. In the extraordinary light-space installation called "Ta Khut", which is 9.44 m long and 7.62 m high on average, 42 tonnes of white LASA marble were used. For the proof of the continuous use of the LASA MARMO® trademark over a period of 50 years, the marble industry in Lasa (Laas) was awarded the distinction of "Historical Trademark of National Interest" by the Italian Patent and Trademark Office U.I.B.M. and was entered in the corresponding national register.
