An incredible number of blocks of marble have been sold to international artists and sculptors over the years - many more than the number of those which have actually been worked at Laas (Lasa). Such works of art from the past are still recognised today for their decorative value even though the marble which they are made of is what really attracts the eye. Lasa marble is much more resistant to adverse climatic conditions than any other kind of marble and, although the stone is exceptionally hard, it is also extremely versatile and relatively easy to work.
