Lechner Marmor was founded in 1992 by Georg J. Lechner together with a number of investors from neighbouring countries including the Swiss media manager Bernhard Burgener. The founders of the new company hoped to develop the Lechner Marble Quarries in the Laas (Lasa) valley, improve efficiency and increase the existing market demand for their exceptionally beautiful, natural, locally-quarried stone all within a relatively short time. More recently, on 18th. November 2008, Lechner Marmor JSC took over Lasa Marmo JSC to become the sole owner of the company.
