The main aims of Lasa Marmo JSC are to promote Lasa as the “home of marble“, consolidate the reputation of Lasa Marble at international level and protect the brand names “Lasa Bianco” and “Lasa Venato” on the world market. The company further hopes to maintain the number of jobs it offers and create new work opportunities in an active business sector. The extraction of the prestigious Lasa Marble from the currently active Weißwasser quarry and the reintroduction of extraction activities in the old Lechner quarries are among our core interests. In close connection to the marble extraction activities we wish to place particular emphasis on the idea that raw materials should be processed directly in Laas (Lasa), contributing therefore to the local craft-work and artistic tradition of the Vinschgau (Venosta) valley.
